Exhibition – The Maastunnel

Michael Bom (1967, Cape Town) works both as a designer and artist. In October of 2016 he exhibited these objects, paintings, photographs and an entertainment machine with which he tries to achieve a new form of perception. For this autonomous work he was triggered by the fantastic structure of the Maastunnel in Rotterdam which was built between 1937 and 1942. Working with historical material (photographs, drawings, advertising) he tries to make connections with nostalgia and a longing for things past.
